My chiropractic education began following an automobile accident in about 1983. In the course of this accident I broke the steering wheel of my VW beetle with my chin. The emergency room doctors repaired the gash in my lip, told me I would be sore, gave me a prescription for pain medication, and sent me home. 6 months later I was still sore, with daily blinding headaches and upper body soreness and weakness that frequently made me feel twice my age.

Fortunately, a friend of the family is a chiropractor. Two weeks after my first visit with him my headache frequency was reduced to one per week, and after 2 months I was under maintenance care, and at that level was completely pain free. At some point during this amazing transformation, I thought: I HAVE to do this for other people!

My formal chiropractic education took place at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa beginning in 1986. I graduated with honors in September of 1989.

My near-obsession with all things prenatal and pediatric started as I was preparing for a time when I would have a family of my own.

I am in love with the undeniable logic and simplicity of prenatal and pediatric adjusting, and I am passionate about de-mystifying and de-mythifying the chiropractic treatment of women during pregnancy, and children. To that end, my days out of the office are now filled with research and writing. I have started creating a series of articles on the topics of pregnancy, pediatric, and family wellness. The series is called Kids' I View, and the first article can be seen in its entirety at my website.
